DESCRIPTION:Steam Train Trip with Fish and Chips  – Sunday 16th August 2026\n\nFor our next summer event this year following the huge success of last years trip we are again arranging a coach trip to Brechin to board the Caledonian Railway steam train on a return journey from Brechin to Bridge of Dun. A Fish and Chip Tea will be served as we steam through the Angus countryside. \nFor those who would rather not have a fish supper there are also the following options:-\n\nSausage and chips\nHalloumi and chips (vegetarian)\n\nUnfortunately, due to logistical issues Caledonian Railway cannot offer a gluten-free option.\nBus: \nThe bus will leave Inverurie town hall at 11.45 and pick up further passengers in Spa Street Aberdeen (at the Denburn behind HMT) at 12.30 before making its way to Brechin Station where we will board the train.\nIt is expected that we will be back in Aberdeen Approx 5.00 and Inverurie 5.30\nWe have provisionally booked 35 places. Tickets will be allocated on a first come/first served basis. If the demand exceeds the number of tickets booked, we will try but cannot guarantee to accommodate further members.\nWe must give the railway final numbers and menu choices shortly, so, if you would like to attend, please contact Ian Stewart on 01467 643422 or Ian Crombie on 0791 778 7826 as soon as possible with names, a contact number and your menu choices.\n
