Sunday 31st of August Steam Train Trip with Fish and Chips

Steam Train Trip with Fish and Chips  – Sunday 31st August

Adding to our varied additional summer events program this year we are currently arranging a coach trip to Brechin

to board the Caledonian Railway steam train for a return journey between  Brechin &  Bridge of Dun.

Food options

A Fish and Chip Tea will be served as we steam through the Angus countryside.

For those who would rather not have a fish supper there are also the following options:-

  • Sausage and chips
  • Halloumi and chips (vegetarian)

Unfortunately, due to logistical issues Caledonian Railway cannot offer a gluten-free option.

Free Transport  (Inverurie-Aberdeen-Breechin-Aberdeen-Inverurie)

The bus will leave Inverurie town hall at 11.15 and pick up further passengers in Spa Street Aberdeen (at the Denburn behind HMT) at 12.00 before making its way to Brechin Station where we will board the train. It is expected that we will be back in Aberdeen Approx 4.00 and Inverurie 4.30

We have provisionally booked 30 places and in this instance initially members will be restricted to 2 seats so that as many as possible can attend. Tickets will be allocated   on a first come/first served basis. If the demand exceeds the number of tickets booked, we will try but cannot guarantee to accommodate further members.  We must give the railway final numbers and menu choices within the next fortnight, so, if you would like to attend, please contact Ian Stewart on 01467 643422 or 07840 012131 as soon as possible!
